This study aimed to map areas favorable for Melipona quadrifasciata. For doing the used the species Distribution Modeling, generating potential areas in Brazil, using the concept of maximum entropy (Maxent 3.3.3). We considered 106 natural occurrence points of M. quadrifasciata obtained through bibliographic and herbarium records were used from searches in the Specieslink (2016), GBIF (2016) database. The simulation of the potential areas for M. quadrifasciata presented the training average AUC for the runs of 0.850, with a standard deviation of 0.016 and the binomial probability was of 0.0001 indicating the low probability of this model being generated at random. The evaluated indicators suggest that the model is satisfactory in the estimation of the adequacy distribution of M. quadrifasciata habitat. Analyzing the presented result, it is verified that there are some areas of high environmental suitability without record of occurrence of the species nearby, which could indicate potential areas for new collections in the future.
